Appelpop 2008 on 12-13.09.2008 (Tiel, NL)
The Appelpop festival is one of the largest festivals of the Netherlands. It is especially popular among Dutch people because it’s entirely free.When everything started 17 years ago, it was a small local festival. But it kept growing over the years and, in 2007, over 100.000 people attended the event. And yet, it is still free!
The program mainly consists of Dutch bands. However, a number of these bands are well known in other parts of Europe. Therefore, the Appelpop is internationally known.
The place: Tiel.
The festival takes place in the city of Tiel. It is located next to the city centre and the river Waal, which is Europe's most intensively used waterway.

Before Within Temptation's concert in Appelpop, Robert Westerholt took the time to answer some of our questions. We talked about the release of the Black Symphony DVD. Another part of the discussion involved the upcoming Theater Tour. We talked a little bit about the future and more precisely about the next album. To conclude, we came back on the Rock en France performance, where WT opened for Metallica.
