Nirwana's Tuinfeest on 4 August 2007 (Lierop, NL)
The Nirwana's Tuinfeest is a 3-days-long festival. This year, it took place in Lierop, on August 3rd, 4th and 5th.
The place: Lierop
We were there for the second day, to attend Delain performance. When we arrived around 14:00, the tickets for the day were already sold out, which is a sign of good success. The headliners: the Fun Lovin' Criminals, were surely a big part of it.
After a week of bad weather, we had the chance to enjoy the first sunny day. The atmosphere was relaxed, a lot of people were still resting in the camping.
It wasn't at all a metal event, but it's always nice to hear some other styles from time to time.

15:00 : Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds was formed when Erik van Tilburg and Marc Roosen talked about their love for blues in a bar in Helmond. They decided to make music together which resulted in the creation of Hummingbirds. After a halfyear of working on their songs, they were able to play it for the audience, with only the two of them. Then, they walked into Geert Leenders at a concert, and they decided to go on with 3 people, and the sound of Hummingbirds as it is now was born.
The band was very energetic on stage, and it was enjoyable to see them having fun.
16:00 : The Prodigal Sons
" A major talent seemed to have vanished into thin air. It's been a long time since we heard from him. There were times when we even considered issuing search-warrants. Wanted: Erwin Nyhoff, ex-Prodigal Sons, singer/guitarist, songwriter, long-haired. But suddenly he was there again, now working as a solo-artist. Take Your Time marks the re-launching of Erwin's musical career. It features a great number of truly great musicians such as Greg Morrow (drums), Gary Burnette (guitar), Pat Sansone (bass/keyboards) and Wes Cunningham (one of the most remarkable backing vocalists). "
Nyhoff was dedicated to be back. Over the past years he just wanted to get out of the fast lane and Take Your Time is a perfect reflection of this period. But now he is ready to kick ass again, and this concert was a good example of this.
17:00 : Delain
The weather was good, the concert was good, what else ? Hum, it was our first concert without Ray, which was sad, but Ronald was there, all focused on what he was doing, and the result sounded great ! As always, all of them were very smiling and nice.
The only negative point was the setlist : 3 songs were removed, for a matter of time, so as it does during every good moment, time flied too fast.
18:00 : Zornik
Zornik is a Belgian rock band which was formed in 1999 by singer and guitarist Koen Buyse. The band was discoverd in the Humo’s Rock Rally, when they became finalists together with Tom Helsen and Gabriel Rios.
The Belgium EMI heard about the selling numbers in there music genre and they released their first single Love Affair in 2001. The big breakthrough came later with the hit single It’s So Unreal.
The next album was released in 2004 and the sound was a slice different and more grown up then before.
On April 13rd this year, they released their last cd called Crosses.
